If you’re a blogger, you really can’t escape Christmas. As of early December, the Christmas-themed posts pop up everywhere, with tons of new and old songs from indie-artists. Personally, I’d rather listen to these festive tunes than most of the “old classic” ones (with only a few exceptions… Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer will always have a place in my heart! 🙂 ). So in this post, I’m trying to collect those Christmas-themed blogs, and I hope that once Christmas eve arrives, we will all have a perfect soundtrack to fill a whole evening! 🙂 Let me know if you find more stuff, and I’ll add it here!
Swedish label MadForIt has also started a Christmas giveaway: first gift is a signing announcement of German band Square; MadForIt will release their latest album in 2009. Second gift comes from Parker Lewis; he wishes us to have ourselfs a merry little Christmas. Two more giveaways from MadForIt will follow until Christmas Eve.
A Swiss Christmas calender comes from Swiss label Gentleman Records. One free (and previously unreleased) download per day is ready for you. Check it out here: http://www.xmascalendar.ch/. Don’t miss day 4 where you can get a song from Swiss cult-band The Young Gods!
Update: don’t miss the great songs from Heidi Happy, Favez and Magicrays! (but you’ll have to find them yourselves… part of the fun of it, isn’t it? 🙂 ).
The Electric Fantastic Sound label has released its Electric Fantastic Christmas 2008 sampler; check all the songs on a special Last.FM-page, and get more infos (and the cover) on the official homepage. Kudos to J.A. for the find.
Hyperbubble – Christmas With The Bee Gees (Robin Reindeer Mix) (MP3)
Electraset – We Wish You A Medley XMas (MP3)
Eardrums Music has a bunch of Christmas songs ready; and Morten from Hits In The Car has re-animated his post from last year and will be adding more songs as we speak. Swedesplease offers some tunes from… you guessed it, Sweden, and the aptly named Santas Working Overtime also collects various links to Christmas mixes.
That’s it for the moment, I’ll keep adding more over the next couple of weeks.
