Finnish Fusion

I’ve mentioned Kiki Pau last week briefly on my MySpace-post, but I think a few more words are in order. I’ve just listened to their debut Let’s Rock, and I was pleasantly surprised that there’s more to the album than just rock. Kiki Pau also throw in some jazzy elements, even some swing, and a lot of old school, 60s Rock ‘n Roll. The result is a fresh and different take on your contemporary indie-pop, and it’s good to hear a band not only warming up old stuff, but also trying to inject their own ideas. It’s too early to say that the album will stand the test of time, but Let’s Rock is definitely a good foundation for future projects.
