Just came back from a great trip across New Zealand. No wonder that I’ve found some great sounds down there…
Opshop – No Ordinary Thing (hot new band… excellent song!)
The Feelers – Venus (one of NZ’s best bands at the moment)
Evermore – It’s Too Late (another upcoming band… new album got high remarks!)
And what better occasion than cruising through New Zealands countryside is there to listen to the new, wonderful album by The Finn Brothers. Everyone Is Here is full of catchy, melodic tunes and will bring back some great memories.
And then there’s U2’s How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. Even on the other side of the world there was no getting away from this album which is not a bad thing though. The album is a real grower.
It was only excelled by Green Days new outing, American Idiot. What an album!!! Must be the milestone in their career. A one-of-a-kind punk-rock concept album with excellent melodies and even better lyrics. Propelled itself into my personal best-of-2004-list (which you will find here in the next few weeks… promised!)
